Specific parameters
Iodine value: The iodine value of coal-based columnar activated carbon is usually 300 - 600mg/g, and that of coconut shell columnar activated carbon can reach 800 - 1200mg/g. The higher the iodine value, the stronger the adsorption capacity.
Particle size: Common diameters include 1.5mm, 3.0mm, 4.0mm, 6.0mm and other specifications, which can be selected according to actual needs.
Specific surface area: Generally 500 - 1500 square meters per gram, providing a large number of adsorption sites.
Strength: It has good mechanical strength and can withstand a certain amount of wear and pressure. For example, its wear resistance can reach more than 90%.
Ash content: The ash content of coal-based columnar activated carbon is relatively high, about 5% - 15%, while that of coconut shell columnar activated carbon is low, usually 3% - 8%.
Applications
Gas phase adsorption: Used in industrial waste gas treatment to adsorb harmful gases such as benzene, toluene, xylene, and formaldehyde, reducing air pollution; in the field of oil and gas recovery, it can recover volatile oil and gas, reducing resource waste and potential safety hazards.
Liquid phase adsorption: In drinking water purification, it removes odors, residual chlorine, some heavy metal ions and organic pollutants from water; in sewage treatment, it has a certain adsorption and removal capacity for pollutants such as COD and BOD in sewage, improving water quality.
Catalyst carrier: With its good adsorption performance and stable chemical structure, it can load active components such as metal catalysts, and is used in chemical synthesis, environmental protection catalysis and other reaction processes to improve reaction efficiency and selectivity.
