Appearance Characteristics: The product appears as black, irregularly shaped granules with clearly defined contours and uniform particle size distribution, showing no significant powder adhesion or clumping. Standard product particle sizes typically range from 6-12 mesh to 6-9 mesh, with customizable adjustments based on process requirements. The granules exhibit a slightly rough surface with natural texture, offering a firm yet non-spongy feel. High-quality products demonstrate dense cross-sectional structures without visible pore blockages or impurity inclusions, and show no reflective highlights under natural light, reflecting the purity of raw materials and the stability of activation processes. Visual and tactile identification can preliminarily assess mechanical strength and adsorption potential, providing foundational references for subsequent process applications.
II. Core Characteristics The performance of apricot shell-derived gold-activated carbon stems from the natural advantages of its raw material and precise process control. Its core performance metrics fully meet gold extraction requirements, primarily demonstrated in the following aspects: 1. Optimized pore structure: Leveraging the natural distribution of lignin and cellulose in apricot shells, the material achieves a mesopore (2-50nm) proportion of 60%-70% after 850℃ steam activation, far exceeding the 50% ratio of coconut shell carbon. This pore size distribution aligns perfectly with the molecular dimensions of gold cyanide complexes (approximately 0.5-1nm), ensuring both adsorption capacity and accelerated diffusion rates within the pores, significantly enhancing dynamic adsorption efficiency. The first-grade product exhibits stable iodine adsorption values of 900-1200mg/g and methylene blue adsorption values of 180-220mg/g, with a specific surface area reaching 1000-1400m²/g.
High Adsorption Efficiency: Gold cyanide complexes (Au(CN)₂⁻) are captured through dual mechanisms of physical adsorption (van der Waals forces) and chemical adsorption (coordination with surface functional groups). After acid washing for ash removal and resin reinforcement treatment, the gold adsorption rate exceeds 94%, with a maximum adsorption capacity of 5.8 kg Au/t carbon. The abundant oxygen-containing functional groups on the surface, such as carboxyl groups and lactone groups, form stable coordination bonds with gold cyanide complexes, reducing adsorption-desorption risks and ensuring process stability.
Controlled Mechanical Strength: To address the inherent low mechanical strength of apricot shell raw materials, the product strength is enhanced to 95%-98% through process improvements such as granulation with 10% phenolic resin. This effectively reduces wear rates during continuous stirring in the carbon slurry method, keeping tonnage loss within a reasonable range. The stable filling density at 0.48-0.58g/ml ensures uniformity and permeability of the adsorption bed, thereby minimizing bed resistance.
Superior cost-effectiveness: Apricot shell raw material costs only 60%-70% of coconut shell. With improved processing techniques and 95.6% high desorption rate (under optimized conditions), gold production costs per ton can be reduced by 15%-20%. A case study from a Xinjiang gold mine demonstrates that using the enhanced apricot shell gold extraction charcoal lowered gold production costs from 87,000 yuan to 69,000 yuan per ton, while shortening the investment payback period by 1.1 years.
III. Application Fields The product's core applications are primarily in gold extraction metallurgy, with precise compatibility tailored to process variations, while also extending to precious metal separation: 1. Carbon Slurry Extraction (CIL): In the direct adsorption process of cyanide ore slurry, this product can be directly added to gold-containing sulfide ore slurry. Through stirring, it achieves efficient capture of gold-cyanide complexes, suitable for processing fine-grained, low-grade gold ores. Its optimized pore structure can handle complex ionic environments in the ore slurry, maintaining stable adsorption performance even under typical conditions of pH=10.5 and CN⁻ concentration 0.03%.
Heap leaching extraction: For the large-scale processing of low-grade gold ores, this product serves as the core filler in heap leaching adsorption columns, enabling deep adsorption of gold ions in the leachate with an adsorption efficiency exceeding 94%. In open-pit heap leaching scenarios, its excellent mechanical strength accommodates long-term leaching conditions, reducing the fragmentation and loss of carbon particles.
Precious Metal Separation and Purification: In addition to gold, this product exhibits excellent adsorption performance for complexes of silver, platinum, and other precious metals. It can be utilized in the precious metal separation process of polymetallic ores. By adjusting desorption conditions, stepwise recovery of different precious metals can be achieved, thereby enhancing the comprehensive utilization rate of resources.
Packaging Specifications: To ensure stable product performance and convenient transportation, a tiered packaging system is adopted, fully complying with relevant GB/T standards: 1. Standard Packaging: 25kg/bag, featuring a high-strength woven plastic outer bag with an inner waterproof PE film bag, providing excellent moisture-proof and damage-resistant properties. The bag body clearly displays product details (e.g., TY-XKL6), iodine value, particle size, production date, and batch number for traceability management.
Industrial bulk packaging: Designed in 1000kg/ton units with flexible bulk bags, equipped with lifting rings and discharge ports, this system meets the continuous production requirements of large-scale gold mines. It can be directly integrated with feeding systems, reducing manual labor and secondary pollution.

Customized Packaging: We provide special packaging options (e.g., 50kg, 500kg) tailored to your logistics and production requirements, with neutral packaging or brand logo customization to meet global procurement needs.
V. Precautions 1. Transportation Protection: During transportation, it is strictly prohibited to mix with hard materials to avoid crushing of carbon particles due to compression or trampling, which may affect adsorption performance. The vehicle must be covered with a tarpaulin to prevent rain and direct sunlight exposure, and the transportation temperature should be controlled between-5°C and 40°C.
Storage Requirements: The product shall be stored in a dry, well-ventilated, and cool warehouse. Shelves must be placed at least 10cm above the ground, away from water sources and humid environments. Water immersion is strictly prohibited, as it may cause active pores to become saturated with water, directly leading to product failure.
Safety precautions: This product is a flammable adsorbent material. Smoking and open flame operations are strictly prohibited in storage and usage areas. Fire-fighting facilities such as dry powder fire extinguishers must be provided. During regeneration treatment, oxygen exposure must be avoided. After regeneration, the material must be cooled to below 80°C using steam before discharge to prevent spontaneous combustion or pulverization upon high-temperature oxygen contact.
Process Control: Surface dust must be removed prior to use to prevent contamination of pulp or leachate. Tar-like substances are strictly prohibited from entering the adsorption bed, and it is recommended to equip with tar removal devices to prevent pore clogging. For desorption, optimized conditions of 140°C, 1.5% NaOH, and 0.3% ethanol are recommended to ensure a desorption rate of over 95%.
Shelf life: Under storage conditions, the product has a shelf life of 24 months. After expiration, core indicators such as iodine value and strength must be retested, and the product can only be used after confirmation of compliance.
This product has obtained ISO9001 Quality Management System certification, with third-party test reports attached to each batch to ensure stable performance indicators.
