Powdered activated carbon 6 of results

Powdered activated carbon is a black powdery adsorbent material, which is made from high-quality carbon-containing raw materials such as wood, coconut shells, and coal through a series of fine processing techniques including carbonization and activation. Due to its extremely fine powder state, it has a large specific surface area and abundant pore structure, enabling it to quickly and effectively adsorb impurities, pigments, odors, and harmful substances in various gases and liquids. It is a widely used adsorbent.

Iodine value: The iodine value is one of the important indicators to measure the adsorption performance of powdered activated carbon. Generally speaking, the iodine value of coconut shell powdered activated carbon can reach 800 - 1200mg/g, and that of coal-based powdered activated carbon is between 300 - 600mg/g. A higher iodine value indicates that the activated carbon has a stronger adsorption capacity for small molecular substances.
Particle size: The particle size of powdered activated carbon is usually very fine, generally less than 0.18mm (80 mesh), and some products can even reach less than 0.075mm (200 mesh). Fine particle size helps to increase the contact area with the adsorbate and accelerate the adsorption rate.
Specific surface area: The specific surface area is relatively large, usually between 700 - 1500m²/g. The huge specific surface area provides abundant adsorption sites, allowing powdered activated carbon to adsorb a large amount of impurities and pollutants.
pH value: Its pH value range is generally between 4 - 10, and the specific value varies depending on the raw materials and production processes. In most application scenarios, this pH value range can ensure that the activated carbon will not have adverse chemical effects on the adsorption system.
