A higher iodine value indicates a stronger adsorption capacity for small-molecule substances, enabling it to effectively adsorb small-molecule organic pollutants such as benzene and toluene.
Particle size: If it is granular, the particle size is generally around 0.5 - 2.0mm, with uniform particles, which is convenient for filling and use in adsorption equipment; if it is powdered, most of it can pass through 80 - 200 mesh sieves (particle size less than 0.18 - 0.075mm). The fine particle size helps better dispersion in liquids or gases, increases the contact area, and improves adsorption efficiency.
Specific surface area: The specific surface area is relatively large, usually between 900 - 1500m²/g. The vast specific surface area provides abundant sites for adsorption, allowing it to adsorb a large amount of impurities, pigments, odorous substances, and harmful gases, etc.
pH value: The pH value ranges roughly from 4 to 10. Within this range, it can adapt to various adsorption environments without causing significant interference to the acidity and alkalinity of the adsorption system.
Strength (applicable to granular form): For granular fruit shell activated carbon, strength is an important indicator. It has good mechanical strength, and the compressive strength can generally reach more than 80% - 95%. During use, such as being impacted by air flow or liquid flow in the adsorption tower, it is not easy to break, can maintain a good granular form, and ensure the stability of the adsorption process.

Liquid-phase adsorption
Drinking water purification: In drinking water treatment, it can effectively remove residual chlorine, odors, and chromaticity from water, and also adsorb some heavy metal ions (such as mercury, lead, cadmium, etc.) and organic pollutants (such as pesticide residues, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, etc.), improving the safety and taste of drinking water.
Sewage treatment: Used in the advanced treatment of industrial wastewater and domestic sewage, it adsorbs harmful substances in sewage such as chemical oxygen demand (COD)-related substances, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) components, organic dyes, phenols, and cyanides, helping sewage meet discharge standards or achieve reclaimed water reuse.
Food and beverage industry: Used in processes such as sugar making, winemaking, and fruit juice processing for decolorization, deodorization, and impurity removal. For example, in sugar making, it adsorbs pigments and impurities in sugar liquid to improve the quality of sugar; in winemaking and fruit juice processing, it removes unpleasant odors and impurities to enhance product flavor.
Gas-phase adsorption
Air purification: Used in indoor air purifiers and ventilation systems to adsorb harmful components in the air such as formaldehyde, benzene, TVOC (total volatile organic compounds), odors, and smoke, improving indoor air quality. It can also be used in industrial waste gas treatment to adsorb and purify harmful gases in waste gas such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), hydrogen sulfide, and ammonia.
Gas masks and respiratory protection equipment: Filled as an adsorbent in gas masks and respiratory protection equipment, it can effectively adsorb toxic and harmful gases, ensuring the respiratory safety of users.
