Reporter's note: Recently, significant structural changes have occurred in the global activated carbon export market. In the European market, especially in Germany, the demand for high-performance activated carbon has shown explosive growth. At the same time, the continuous tightening of international trade policies is driving Chinese activated carbon export enterprises to accelerate their transformation from "price competition" to "technology-driven".
Europe's high-end market becomes a new growth pole
Data shows that the recent export volume of activated carbon from China to Germany has surged by 152% year-on-year, with the main demand focusing on high-end pitch-based spherical activated carbon used in waste gas treatment (VOCs) in chemical industrial parks. Such products need to pass strict TÜV certification, and their carbon tetrachloride adsorption value is required to reach more than 75%. It is reported that some Chinese enterprises have successfully entered BASF's supply chain, with a single-quarter order volume exceeding 120,000 tons, marking a key breakthrough for China's high-end activated carbon products in the international market.
